Our KS V6 has approx 180,000km on it and it is starting to use oil, particularly on start-up. Looks like it might be the valve stem oil seal problem as everything else looks OK.

Any recommendations for a Mitsu specialist in Brisbane who could replace the seals and give the engine the once over.

We've had it from new and everything else is great

I'm not sure myself - one of the other guys might have a lead for you. I'd be interested to see if there were any magna specialists in town myself.

if u do it yourself, without takin the heads off, remember to pressurise the cylinder u are working on so that the valves dont fall into the combustion chamber. We did this on my mates VK and it worked a charm. 1/2 hour to do 12 valve stem seals FTW!!!!!!

I've done VSS on my TS. Takes a while, but worth the effort. You must take your time.

Hope this helps

Aviod mitsubishi, over priced for most jobs, ring around and get quotes from other mechanics first.

Still haven't found anyone in Brisbane who is recommended to do this work. Dealers want $2k for what is a 4 - 5 hour job.

I have heard that there is a guy down the Gold Coast who specialiases in Mitsubishi valve stem seal replacements. Has anyone heard of him or can someone recommend a Mitsubishi specialist who can replace the seals for me

best try a local mechanical workshops close to you
the mitsubishi dealerships could be looking at over $300-$400 for the work
ideal to keep the heads
so best get quotes

first
get a compression test done just in case there is a valve/ring problem
