View Full Version : My Car Seriously Needs Respray. Please Help !!

Hi guys,

My car needs respraying (seriously) some bastard poured paint stripper on the boot lid and two of the doors :rant: . I just want your opinion on where to get it resprayed in Brisbane, Ipswich, Gold Coast. Please suggest some good but reasonably priced places you know about. I don't want to change the color its "kashmir pearl"(metalic gold) at the movement (please see the attached pic) and i am just looking for a closed door respray.

Would also appreciate if you can point me to a good wrecking joint.

1. people haven't been online to reply and the 30 views are people from other states
2. people don't actually have any recommendations for good painters or panel beaters and therefore are not replying as it would be silly to have a thread full of 30 people saying "I don't know any good ones".....

If you're getting a respray, I'd recommend getting some newer panels while you're at it (TH-TJ front bar, TJ boot lid, TJ bonnet if you like the look)...

Try Bill at Redbank Plains Panel and Paint. I live not far from there and have seen some great work come from his shed. The number is 3814 3777. Other than that I had some work done after a nose to tail last year at Mansfield Smash Repairs...their number is 3349 3733 we were really impressed with the quality of their work and customer service. Good luck with whatever you choose...

1.) BCM Body Repairs, Moorooka. $6000 (for a closed door, same color respray)

2.) Bill at Redbank Plains Panel and Paint N/A (called the number about 3 times and didn't receive an answer i guess they are either not open or too busy)

3.) Mansfield Smash Repairs (Well they don't quote over the phone so i will be going in to the workshop today)

4.) Craig @ Strathpine Paint & Panel $2900 (for a closed door, same color respray)

as far as i am concerned i won't spend more than $1500 on a respray of the same color and all of the above are way more expensive than that.

any more suggestions guys.

Ouch :( I want to respray mine but i'd just do a backyard job cause I don't have a couple of grand spare.

I wish I knew some spray painters so I could get mates rates.

Dunno, maybe as it's not much to mix white... I've known the guy for about 10 years and had about 5 cars done by him, I basically just paid paint and materials I think.

I paid $200 to get my boot resprayed (it was off a TJ on my TE, different white) and they said a same colour spray full car would be 2 grand. Came back perfect.

Thank you everyone for your responses and support. I have finally got my car fixed. But i didn't get it spray painted, i actually found a donor for the door and the boot. And best thing is these doors are electric YAH

Its probs too late but a reference for the future. My family owns a Panel shop called Rust Free Panel and Paint. its in stafford. exact address is 31 Wolverhampton st Stafford QLD 4053. We have not had anyone turn away from our prices so far! So just call (07) 3356 5900 or (07) 3352 7578. We do just about everything so don't be shy to ask (this goes for everyone).
