Hi all, just wondering if it is illegal or will it void my insurance if i remove the mudflaps on my magna (in NSW). I've only found information about other states and even they are inconclusive so i was hoping for a conclusive answer that kills 2 birds with 1 stone. I apologise in advance if this is the wrong section.

Not sure to be honest..... I very hightly doubt that it would be defectable to remove them.
Jump on the RTA website and have a read of the legislation if you want to be sure

Thats what i've been thinking + even if do get defected i can just put them back on right? My real concern is that my insurance won't pay out if i have an accident as i know they are nosy little *****s and look over everything with a fine toothed comb.

my car idnt even come with mudflaps....
you'd be more likely to be defected for having mudflaps, as they are teh lowest point of your car
i highly doubt it would be illegal or would void ur insurance since it's an added option from the manufacturer. mud flaps don't come standard on cars- usually

well i went ahead and took the 4 mudflaps off my car this morning and with a bit of elbow grease & eucalyptus oil the guards have come up nicely and the car looks alot smoother/cleaner. Now if i could only afford to get her lowered...

How can no mudflaps cause a defect. They are an option on purchase and not a standard item.
