REALLY NOT HAPPY AT THE MOMENT!!

The missus came home from work to discover that someone has stolen our rims! Whoever it is has had to scale a 7ft brick wall and then haul them over the wall!

Nothing else has been touched....

We cant believe that our babies are gone!!

That sux!
I hope you get them back, but unfortunately doubt it unless you get lucky.

If you do get them back, I hope they are not scratched/damaged.
If you don't get them back, I hope they scratched them getting them over the wall and they now have to live with or sell scratched rims.

Mate that sux really bad. Where are you located in QLD? If your around the Brisbane Southside area send me a pic and I'll keep an eye out - it's not often you see 22" Rims rolling around the burbs..

I'd also keep an eye out on the boost cruising forums/ebay/trading post/etc too in case they are trying to offload them in a hurry.

EDIT - Actually, I see them in your avatar! Will keep an eye out mate.

Sorry to hear mate. Like xman said, I'd definitely keep an eye on Boostcruising and eBay in particular in case they show up there.

Yeah we live on the Gold Coast.....The thing is tho, they dont suit any other car because of the offset...
Thanks for the advice with looking on ebay etc.
At the moment we have the originals on, we may end up looking at going bigger again....but it may just start to look ridiculous. Unfortunately we wont be able to anything for a while yet....

insurance?

ARS55

They should be covered under home and contents insurance seeing as they were in your garage.

Also seeing as they only took the rims it would seem they knew what they were looking for and knew where they were. Try to think of anyone that has been in your house and knew where they were or could've seen them stored in the house.

also might help your case if you could post a front on shot of the rims so we all have a better view of what to look out for.

They not covered by insurance mate? Even so it sucks as you would be stuck with the excess, be pretty tough rims to move on without someone round here catching on i would think. Best of luck dude!

We can keep an eye out for Northern NSW too... dont know where on the Gold Coast you are... but I drive between Nerang and Tweed everyday...

With all these eyes on the prowl for them there bound to be spotted sooner or later...

As one other member said, it's obviously someone who knows you or your routine. Also definately sounds like a 2+ person job - I could only imagine how difficult it would be to get 4x22" rims over a 7 foot brick wall..

Might be wise to ask ur neighbour(s) if they saw anything suspicious?

Can you post up a side on pic? My local bob jane deals in 2nd hand rims quite a bit (eg; trading an older design of an expensive rim for a newer design). I'd be happy to drop a pic in there and let them know. These arn't a very common wheel (especially in 22") so ill keep my eye out.

RACQ Insurance do not cover any car accessories under contents insurance, clear exclusion in the PDS..

i know for a fact that depending what level cover you have, Westpac insurance DO cover motor vehicle spareparts and accessories up to $10,000, my in laws are with them for that sole purpose as my father in law has a few old escorts and gt cortina's that he likes restoring..

i havn't read too many other PDS's.. but it doesn't hurt to lodge a claim or at least pull out your PDS and see 'what we insure as your contents' or what ever..

so have you read your insurance policy yet?

i do this sh!t everyday for a living, PM me who you are with.. and i'll review the PDS for you if you like.. insurance lingo is ment to be lay mans terms.. but you still need to know where to look..

Nah our contents insurence didnt cover them at all....In the fine print as they said. They are 22" x 8" Verde Madonna's with Toyo tyres (Toyo Proxes4 235/30/zR22 90W). These rims are gonna be hard to move as they will only fit the 380. One rim has rather nasty scrap taken out on the lip due to a fight with a gutter.

Cheers guys for all your help!

Oh and we actually live in Burleigh Waters.

Thanks again everyone for your concern!!
