once again thanks for the good turn out everyone, i have a feeling we will find some more new destinations like this one for us to discover on our next criuses to come.

when we go back to wivenhoe i think the idea of a slip'n slide is a definite winner.

instead of going up milton rd and across the inner city bypass, turn to go up mt cootha, then take the first right. pretty well follow it along and it will bring you out near pick n pay hypermarket on gympie rd.

Heaps less traffic lights than gympie/milton rd, and about 2/3 th traffic.

Mate that's the price I need to pay. Been driving around a fair bit today & up to about 350km on the tank & down to a quarter. Was giving it a bit of a flogging on the cruise but :woot:

Sounds about right, I think mine was 215 for the day. Your extra driving back & forth to Oakey would have added a couple of 100.

Maybe you should try a steam engine, you're pretty good at lighting fires! You could hold a fair bit of coal in your boot :P

was it just me or did anyone else get tyre screech around some of those corners?

grelise
13-09-2009, 06:17 PM
No, I didn't get any.
But my car got a bit jittery in the back end coming down the hill though. Coupla times I thought the rear end was gonna break free, but it quickly settled when powering out through the corners.

Just you, all i could smell was burning rubber, but no screeching lol

You'll be happy to know Marty that the back tyres still have the slightest signs of what used to be the Ecsta logo... front ones on the other hand... :bowrofl:

maybe i need new tyres... i was sticking to the ground tho... when we were going up the hill before we stopped at the look out, i saw FFEAKY just going crazy around the corners i was just like :surprised

I had 1 corner where i was pushing a bit hard and went to turn in and it just kept going straight ahead:eeek:.Bit of tyre screeching but made it around ok.On another note the 4cyl went really well on fuel on used 1/4 of a tank for the day considering i drove it fairly hard.

QMD///801
13-09-2009, 08:29 PM
yeah, i sat in 4th gear behind ya'll you weren't going that hard suprised to hear there was tyre squeel!! dunno bout this rubber smell all I could smell was methanol!! :O

yeah I went through a full tank of fuel thats why i pulled into the servo!!

jks, quarter of a tank for me..

the plans are already in motion for the slip n slide!
