Hi guys,
Me and my GF have already booked our summer Holiday this december. we're really excited about it, staying in surfers paradise.
We've hit a bit of a bump though, we need a car for the 7 days that we're there and dont know of any companies that will hire cars to P Plate holders.
do any of you guys know of a spot?
thanks in advance
-Ian.

Depends what kind of car you want, pretty sure there are smaller independant car rental places around that could help you out. try searching on www.yellow.com.au for car rentals on the gold coast

Have a search on Google... I tried to find a P-plate friendly car rental agency on the Gold Coast a few years back and I'm positive I found one (possibly based in Surfers Paradise). Sorry but I can't remember the name lol

gday guys, we've been searching with no joy.
does anyone know of anyone who'd be willing to lease their car out to me for $250 i'd need it between the 3rd and 10th of dec. i would pay for any damage (if any which i doubt) and return it with a full tank.
thanks in advance

You're 19, you should be able to get something from Jucy or similar? I was able to rent a car in NZ just days after my 18th birthday with a SA P2 licence and explaining I had no passenger restrictions, no curfew, zero BAC and 100km/h with no requirement to display P plates. Was looking into renting locally earlier this year and the youngest anyone would rent to was 19 year olds which assumes full licence perhaps. Good luck finding anything that cheap though. I wouldn't even consider borrowing someone's car, that's just asking for trouble.

these guys hire to people from 18yrs old, prices arent completely shocking too
http://www.surfersparadisehirecar.com/index.php
they have an office in the Surfers Paradise bus station, we hired a van for me and 6 mates when we were up there for a few days, it was a piece of shit diesel tarago thingy but it did the job
just make sure you double check the kms you did, we didn't and they slugged us $100 in excess km that we didnt do and they they refused to chase it up the bastards

These are some i found on google in 10 mins :)
Paradise car rentals (http://www.paradisecarrentals.com.au/), the opening line on their website is, Over 18 Years and Under 21 Years of Age and want to rent a car? You have come to the appropriate Car Rental Company.
ABL (http://www.ablcarrentals.com.au/index.php) will hire you a TR for $29/day according to their website lol their only requirment is that you hold a licence and not a learners permit by the look of it.
Just did an online booking with avis (https://www.avis.com.au/car-rental/avisHome/home.ac) and they didnt even ask for an age
If none of them will hire you a car, you could always just get scooters.

hey, yeah umm im going okish. im in talks with robceline but in case he needs his car i'd still like some sort of backup plan. i know being IN surfers means everything is close by, but we're planning on driving to some friends houses/brisbane etc and it really wouldnt be ideal on Public transport.
so yeah, please keep suggesting:)
BTW rent a bomb only does over 21s
