How long to get the International Drivers License?

Hey guys,
going to the states for 3 weeks next week and I want to get one of those Internation Driving License things.

It says I have to get it through the NRMA, but I'm leaving on Tuesday.

Can this be done through the RTA?

Also, how long does it take?

If anyone knows, any help would be appreciated.

I think you just walk in to a NRMA branch pay your money and walk out with it but you could always give NRMA a call and find out

Yeah that's what I did, just pop into your local branch and you get it on the spot

Dont bother your wasting your money. Last time I went to the states I got one. got pulled over (not for doing anything wrong just an inspection station) and they didnt care about the international drivers license. They just want to see your NSW one. Even at the DMV they dont care about the NRMA one.

I got pulled over in Daytona Beach Florida for speeding. The copper looked at my licence and seen that I was from Australia. He was more worried about if we had kangaroos and koalas in the backyard rather than my speeding or the smashed winscreen via a baseball bat.

It was totally unbelievable and very funny as I drove away!
