Went and bought 12 litres of the Penrite ATF and drained out the old stuff and then flushed through with new until it came out nice and clean. Cleaning up afterwards when I found a bit of wave spring in the tub. :censored: The car is an 01 model so now I'm thinking it's probably better to get a...

  3. TW overheating

Today the TW did something it's never done before: the needle went almost to hot. It was a cool 15C day, and the coolant level was fully or nearly so. The car was idling in traffic. It's a v well maintained 190k car. Any suggestions for what I should do next would be much appreciated.

  12. Can you adjust the rack and pinion steering?

I have a little play in the steering. In my old Subarus you could adjust the gap between the rack and pinion gear by tightening a large nut. I cannot see this feature for the Magna (TH) in my manual. Can it be done? Thank you

  19. Fitting 7 pin plug.

It's a comedy of errors that'll get sympathy from some old codgers like me. The 7 pin plug was getting to the end of it's life after eighteen years; we'd had it fitted with a tow bar when we bought the car new in 2001. I get down, not so easy nowadays, take off the old plug, fit the new one... no...
