  2. I think my beloved GT is dying!

Well, I think it's finally dying. I really hope not, but I guess all good things... As well as a very weird clunk like the transmission is slipping badly when coasting/idling at speed, I get a very random stall when I'm braking to a stop. The car stalls, but I can put into N and restart with no...

  7. New brake pads and rotors

At the last service I was told my front brakes are low and having a look around/think about it I was thinking of getting some DBA Sreet slotted rotors and TRW pads to suit. Last time I got some RDA slotted and a QFM pad, from memory, but haven't been overly happy with them. I have had good luck...

Hi all, Dad's 380 chewed a valve (suspected broken bolt on timing tensioner, who knows if it's mechanical fault or mechanics fault from the timing belt changed 6 months ago..) As the car is now worthless, unless the wrecker next door offers $50 for it, I was wanting to ask the mechanics and...

  15. Mitsubishi 380 VRX Drivers Seat

Afternoon, The Drivers seat in my '05 380 VRX has collapsed on the righthand side. The electric adjustment still functions and to the best of my knowledge, the airbag has not deployed. Has anyone in SA had any experience with getting a car seat restuffed, or would it be more cost effective for...

  17. Long Time to Start - Engine Light On

Over the past two months my 2005 LX has taken an extra second to start, suspected the starter motor might be going. Have been barely using it (can walk to work now). After a week in the garage, today it almost didn't start. Took about 5 seconds, and the engine light stayed on. Also seemed...

  19. tyres

Noted with surprise that tyres will need replacing soon. Have done only 41,000km and won't get to 45,000. Is the 380 hard on tyres? I remember getting over 70,000km with Hankooks on the KS Magna (15 inch wheels). I had the Hankook S1 Noble 452 (215/ 55/17 inch 93V) fitted and alignment done...

  20. Foggy headlamps

The headlamps on my GT have not yellowed, but are now getting foggy. It is most noticeable when the lights are on. Rather than a uniform haze, it looks like the polycarbonate might be pitted.
