I see. It looks like the formula for both these pads may have changed over time, but yes, I'm also not using slotted rotors anymore, though I have not had a problem with slotted on my Falcon.

The HPX I bought last year sure didn't seem the same as the HPX I bought years before that, first using RDA slotted and last year using DBA slotted.

Ok, I'm a little bit spewing as the car was serviced a couple of weeks ago and they identified that the front brakes need attention!!! From what it says it seems they want to replace the just about six month old front rotors, so it seems the pads are ok.

How can this be? I can't tell from looking at the wheels how low they are, but I can't believe they are almost done so soon.

I am tempted to go back to pads from Mitsubishi. They seemed fine and certainly lasted a lot longer.

Unless you have some shudder or have got down to min thickness ( can't see how if only 6 months old )

The last time i can recall bad rotors after 6 months was mainly police vehicles running the old Bendix Ultimate's, a very aggressive friction material but on H/Patrol vehicles so they got a fair working out.

Yes, I'm super surprised myself, that they would be low enough to need replacing soon. I will try and take them somewhere for a second opinion and change shops if they are telling me porkies.

I've had my base model DBA rotors and HPX pads on my 380 for around 70,000km now and they're still very smooth, and my mechanic hasn't said anything about them. Admittedly a fair few highway kms but even that shouldn't explain how yours are buggered after 6 months!
