    Default Rearview mirror rattle

Recently my rearview mirror has been vibrating from the subwoofer and certain bumps in the road. Tried adding superglue between the plastic and glass mirror with no success. Putting a large rubber band around the outside seems to help. Anyone got a better solution? Also how do you remove it from the windscreen?

Mine just started doing this too ;( Sounds like something on the inside of the mirror housing buzzing. Connected by 3x ball joints so unsure how to remove..

*BLEEP* I've to been cursed by the rattle in the mirror, it's really annoying at idle in gear at the red light - which Gold Coast has plenty of.... just touching it with my finger stops the rattle, anyone have a cure?

If the standard is anything like the chromatic mirror, open it up and wedge foam in there.

Figured out how to get it off the windscreen, how do you open up the mirror unit itself to fix rattle?

I pried mine open around the indent that runs around the mirror, not sure if the std mirrors are put together the same way.

Well even the windscreen guys can't get it off - looks like previous owner super glued it to the screen mount or something - anyway all the prising and levering has stopped the rattle for the moment anyway....

I found the solution. The vibration is between the mount and the block that is glued to the glass. As I couldn't get it off the screen I used a small screw driver to push small bits of medium/high density foam between the 2 from the top. This has completely stopped all vibration.
