    Default BEM, Immobilizer question.

    Hi,
I'm having that BEM issue where the car would sometimes not start randomly after days, weeks, hours..
Does anyone here happen to know what the immobilizer disables ?
I'm thinking of bypassing it or even making a switch for whatever it disables, ie fuel pump.

My limited understanding is that it stops the injector pulse. I had the immobiliser function switched off in the ECU by Mitsfix. But they are in Melbourne & I see you are in SA.
If you Google "aussiemagna.com immobiliser" you will find posts that might help - especially those from May 2015.

    Alright thanks,
I actually replaced the BEM/ECU/KEY a few months ago and this happens once again. Just sick and tired of getting under there to replace it all and getting ripped by wreckers

    Hi bthology,

Have a look at the plastic ring around the ignition key barrel. This part also holds the lamp that illuminates the ignition key.

The connections on this key reader can deteriorate and cause the code for the immob to become jumbled.

You can resolder the connections for the key reader or you can replace it.
