It was a very tongue in cheek comment - you can see by my other posts in other threads I do try to be helpful to all on here where I can

In this case I know nothing- helpful or otherwise - about the ticking issue as happily it has not happend to my car yet

There are threads here discussing bluetooth OBDII scanners etc which can be found fairly easily on ebay (bluetooth or cable types) and allow you to read/reset CEL codes via free or cheap software on phone or pc

it seems my car have the same ticking noise, when idling I touch the valve and I can feel it ticking very quickly.

Has anyone found a third party part or it has to be genuine mitsu?

I know this is an old thread, but I really appreciate this. I bought a 06 Series 2 last week with 136xxx on the clock and was worried and annoyed about the noise. A quick search revealed this, so I diagnosed it - and sure enough was this part. Went to the dealership across the road from my house and they had the part in stock for $113 inc. GST. Awesome. Thanks.

You are lucky they had it in stock as Mits currently have nil stock and no ETA on new ones

That's lucky then! He said he had a couple, so if anyone else needs one in Adelaide - hit up Australian Motors in Wayville across from the showgrounds!

Just come upon the topic and had a decent read.

I have just put a 3.8 into my magna, I had MitsFix do it, and I wanted to know if it would still be something I should be looking out for. The engine has between 104,xxx - 106,xxkms as far as I know.
Is this something that If I can find the part purchase it and put it in my toolbox so it can be changed quickly.
I like to solve any problems that are wrong with my car as soon as I can before it impacts anything.

Thanks for this thread though it has been helpful.

Not at all, the purge valve is only used on the 380, the motor once converted to fit a Magna does not use this

Oh and just so you know your motor has 104662km on it plus about 15km we have added to it since road testing

    That's interesting Mal.
If it's not really needed why did MMAL fit it to the 380?
I understand they didn't use an "off the shelf" version of the 6G75 for the 380 but they modified it a little for the 380, eg fitting the 4 cyl intake snorkel instead of the proper 90 mm one.
Or was this annoying purge valve needed to comply with emissions regs?
Now Mitsu-less for the first time in 29 years!
